Flora's Walk: A Day of Community and Remembrance
Date: May 25th
Time: 11:15 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: Allan Gardens, Toronto
Flora's journey to motherhood was filled with both joy and challenges, shining a light on the importance of mental health support during the perinatal period. Despite her unwavering determination and the love of her family, Flora tragically lost her battle with prenatal mental health just weeks after our Doula services ended. Her story serves as a poignant reminder of the need for perinatal mental health awareness and the impact of Doula support during this critical phase.
Many individuals experience a range of emotions during pregnancy and after giving birth, from excitement to anxiety. For Flora, the journey was particularly difficult as she navigated her mental health while eagerly awaiting her baby. Despite the support of her family, Flora's struggles persisted, showing us why perinatal mental health deserves more awareness and understanding.
At Birth Mark, we know how crucial Doula support is in providing comfort, guidance, and reassurance to individuals during pregnancy and beyond. Our Doula services aim to empower expectant and new mothers, offering a compassionate presence and practical assistance to navigate the ups and downs of parenthood.
Join us on May 25th at Allan Gardens in Toronto to honour Flora's memory and raise awareness for perinatal mental health. We will meet at 11:15 AM on the north side of Allan Gardens off of Carlton St East, with opening speakers, including MPPs. The walk will proceed through Allan Gardens, featuring a photo booth, free face painting, and a chance to connect with Birth Mark's staff.
Together, let's shine a light on the importance of mental health support during the perinatal period and honour Flora's legacy by advocating for greater access to resources and support. You don't need to raise money or donate—just your presence will make a difference.
We look forward to seeing you there. Let's walk together to ensure that no one faces perinatal mental health challenges alone.
