The year 2020 presented an unforeseen challenge with the global pandemic. Despite the obstacles, Birth Mark remained open, adapting our services to virtual platforms, ensuring continuity of care for our clients. Thanks to a generous United Way Grant, our Mobile Giving Wall, a source of essential resources for families, serving 950 families individuals in need.
In 2021, we extended our support further through partnerships and grants. The Oxfam Canada Grant empowered us to provide specialized training for abortion support, we have now run the training 3 times and sold out every single time, demonstrating a clear need for this knowledge in the community. In Hamilton we have connected with the YWCA partnership focused on providing support to pregnant people experiencing homelessness. Additionally, we celebrated the milestone of serving our 1000th Birth Mark baby, a testament to our commitment and impact.
However, despite our achievements, Birth Mark is facing the threat of closure due to the loss of crucial funding. We urgently need your support to ensure that our services continue to be available for those who depend on us during their most vulnerable moments.
