Birth Mark Doula, Toronto
Specialties: fertility, social work
Aleksandra (she/her) started this work as a social worker in a prenatal clinic in a downtown Toronto hospital, where she worked for just over two years supporting parents in the journey from preconception, pregnancy and postpartum. About a year ago, she realized that if she wanted to support families from a more holistic perspective, she needed to change directions in her career. This is what led her to pursue her doula training, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Aleks has supported diverse families with varied backgrounds journeying through the most beautiful, but also some of the most difficult aspects of fertility and parenthood. Her interests now are in supporting the mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health of birthing people while utilizing her doula and social work skillset.
Aleks is now supporting families through fertility, pregnancy and all postpartum journeys. She has an interest in learning about ancient wisdom when it comes to the health of people who carry babies, and will be taking her learning international as she travels the world at the end of 2019 while interacting with birth culture as she travels.
