Birth Mark Implementation and Performance Manager, Toronto
Sarah Minty (she/her) is a certified Birth Doula and Postpartum & Infant Care Specialist. Sarah attended her very first doula training in Toronto in 2010, after which she returned to her hometown of St. John’s, NL. There, she ran her two businesses, Birthside (doula support) and Fresh Mint (postpartum food service), while also chairing the provincial Doula Collective and running a doula mentoring program. She moved back to Toronto with her family in 2017 and began working as the Client Care Coordinator for a busy agency. Sarah has a passion for mentoring doulas and for fostering collaborative working relationships within the community. Helping to bridge the gap between doula training and the reality of working with clients is one of her goals as she helps doulas grow and flourish in this very rewarding career.
As a doula, Sarah aims to provide information without bias, support without judgement, and encouragement to make the decisions that are right for individuals and their families. She believes that all birthing parents can have more satisfying experiences if they can birth in a scenario where they feel safe, encouraged, supported, and respected. She also sees families adjust to new dynamics best when they are listened to and trusted to make the choices that feel right for them. Every person is completely unique when it comes to pregnancy, labour, childbirth, and parenthood, and Sarah is proud to support all types of families, following them on whatever path their experiences take them.
With a never-ending thirst for knowledge, she has completed Dancing for Birth™ Instructor training, Pregnancy and Infant Loss training, and advanced doula training workshops with Penny Simkin, Evidence Based Birth, ProDoula and Spinning Babies.
She currently lives in Toronto with her family of six and tries to spend as much time as possible camping and enjoying the outdoors with them.
