What is a doula?
A doula is a professional trained in reproductive health support who provides emotional, physical, and educational support. Doulas support folks who are expecting a baby, experiencing labour, have recently given birth, going through fertility treatments or considering a termination. The doula's purpose is to help their clients have a safe, memorable, and empowering reproductive journey. A doula is also a trained professional in postpartum support and can help you transition into a new life with your baby. A doula is an unbiased, nonjudgmental source of knowledge, comfort, and support throughout your journey to parenthood.
